This recognition reflects the hard work of the Sandy Hook FireSmart Committee and all our amazing residents. But what does this mean?
FireSmart is a national program that helps communities reduce the risk of wildfires through preparedness and education. Being a recognized FireSmart neighbourhood means we’re doing our part to keep the Sunshine Coast and Sandy Hook safer.
Bonus: Some residents may qualify for reduced home insurance rates—check with your provider or ask at the May 4th event.

Annual Chip Up Day
Saturday, May 18th, 2025
Have your branches and cuttings ready for the chipper which will be circulating on
May 18th starting at 8:30am and following the garbage route
which will begin at the top of Sandy Hook Rd.
